- Training -

Chinese martial arts are based on the same philosophy that governs traditional Chinese medicine. The training aims to create a balance between soft and hard energies within the body – a balance of Yin and Yang chi.

Yang Training

Kung fu is an excellent form of physical training. It trains the cardiovascular system while simultaneously developing core strength, body conditioning, flexibility and stamina. The variety of techniques trained work all the major and minor muscle groups. The training promotes overall physical fitness and can be a good addition to a well balanced weight loss program.

Yin Training

By using relaxed breathing methods during training, combined with relaxed, but dynamic movement, internal energy is circulated through the body. The training also opens joints and stretches tendons, which helps promote a clear pathway for blood circulation and internal energy to travel through the meridian system. Improved blood-flow and internal energy circulation ensures internal organs and tissues receive sufficient nutrients to keep the body healthy.

The system Sifu Wan teaches trains both Yin and Yang energies at the same time.

Chi-gung

Internal energy is developed further through specific chi-gung exercises.

In addition to developing soft ‘ging‘ energy during kung fu training, Sun style Tai-chi chi-gung techniques are very specific methods for building and balancing internal energy. Advanced chi-gung training is taught through Muscle and Tendon Exchange chi-gung, and big and small Golden Bell chi-gung.
